The season of inspiration.

When you live in the Northeast you tend to appreciate summer more than the average American. With this appreciation, for me, comes inspiration! In the summer I am more motivated to live healthier, be more creative and more adventurous. I feel the sky is the limit in the summer and there are so many things I want to do before it ends.
On the weekends, I put pressure on myself to make sure that those two days are spent adventuring and being outdoors. I strive to do something new every weekend or at least something I know I can't do unless it's summer. At the most, I spend about 10 hours in my apartment total each weekend because I either have plans or refuse to stick around when I could be in Newport or by the water somewhere.
I tend to enjoy painting or drawing more in the summertime as this favorite season brings colorful inspiration to me. I love to create from the beautiful memories I make through these short and fleeting three months. Like my grandmother, I love to draw first then use acrylics for painting. This medium is easy to work with and allows me to cover up my mistakes! :)
This post includes a photo I took from this past weekend on Block Island, RI. This adventure was something I have done before but not for many years. My visit wasn't long enough but it did motivate me to want to make the effort to come back and do more exploring. There's no where I feel more at peace than on beach - any beach.
